Writer/Director - Gail Hackston
Gail Hackston is a filmmaker based in London. Moving to London in 2000, she spent 10 years in Sales and Marketing for various media companies before coming back to filmmaking in recent years.
2012 saw five of her short films as writer, produced. One of which, Spare Change, she produced herself with Director Andy Carslaw. In addition, 2012-13 saw Gail produce Crowdsourced feature film 50 Kisses with the London Screenwriters Festival.
Having directed many student films in the late 1990s, Gail was keen to get back behind the camera in 2013 with Cancer Hair. She is now developing a feature film project with Roxy Holman of Jokers Pack productions and in pre-production for her next short Invisible Girl.
Producer - Helga Ernudottir
Helga Ernudottir is an Icelandic Writer/Producer based in London. Helga has worked in the film industry since she was 17, mostly in the Icelandic advertising and international production service before moving almost exclusively onto London based productions along with graduating with her BA (hons) Screenwriting & Producing degree from London School of Film, Media and Performance.
Through her time in London she’s worked on numerous short films and music videos along with recently directing her own short film, Pinned, (2013 Reykjavík International Film Festival Official Selection, Cannes Short Film Corner 2013).
Currently, Helga works in feature film development for Parkland Pictures along with freelancing as a writer/producer.
Producer - Isabelle Sieb
Isabelle Sieb is a German-born film director and producer. She moved to Cape Town at the age of 20 to work as a freelance director for clients such as National Geographic, FIFA and SF (Swiss Television).
London based since 2010, she has directed and produced a range of corporate and promotional short films while completing her studies at the London School of Film, Media and Performance with a First Class Honours degree.
Her short film “College Romance – The Musical” was chosen for 2013 Official Selections at several film festivals across Europe and has made the top ten out of over 2000 applications at the Pretzel Films directing competition. She has recently wrapped production on her latest short “Mannequins” starring top model Nadine Ponce, E4’s “Beaver Falls” Natasha Loring and “Hollyoaks” Andy Moss.
Exec. Producer - Andy Carslaw
Andy Carslaw graduated at Bournemouth University with a degree in Information Systems Management BSc (Hons). He has over 16 years experience working on web and media projects (management, design and the development of online services, applications, multimedia) and currently works for the University of Oxford.
As a director Andy has helmed three short films, “Gardening and Other Crimes”, “Etiquette” and “Spare Change”. He produced two of these films himself and will be bringing this experience, plus his experience as an editor and composer to Cancer Hair. In addition to his own films, Andy recently co-produced “Legacy” a short film by Alan Campbell.
Exec. Producer - Lucy V. Hay
Lucy V. Hay is a novelist, script editor, screenwriter and blogger who helps writers via her Bang2write consultancy at www.bang2write.com. A trained teacher, Lucy is The Educational Director for The London Screenwriters’ Festival, helping set up the event in 2010. Lucy is currently working on ASSASSIN for Silver Leaf Pictures with writer/director JK Amalou.
Lucy’s previous script editing credits include dark Brit Thriller DEVIATION, which stars King of the Indies Danny Dyer and Hellboy 2’s Anna Walton; also Triad Gangster Thriller ACT OF GRACE, starring Leo Gregory and Jody Latham (SHAMELESS). In addition, Lucy has worked for screen agencies, funding initiatives, private investors, as well as literary agents; individual producers and directors; plus writers, new to professional.
